Gateway and Co in the outdoor area: Engelmann’s complete system in Marseille
Bougainvillées is the name of a housing estate in Marseille, the second largest French city. Not to be confused with the wonderful bougainvillea plant, but at least as beautiful as it. The housing estate consists of nine multi-storey buildings and 69 detached houses, all of which are located in an estate several hundred meters long. Hundreds of Engelmann WaterStar M water meters have been installed on site, as well as a sophisticated AMR infrastructure to process the data from the installed devices. The AMR infrastructure consists of 12 gateways and 19 repeaters. The problem: detached houses in particular are built in such a way that radio waves are difficult to receive. Therefor, both the gateways and the repeaters for these buildings are not installed inside but outside. Protected in weatherproof housings, they collect the data from the meters and forward it.
Twice a month, the data is sent from the Engelmann DSP (Data Service Platform) to NOGEMA TECHNOLOGY‘s FTP server. This means that NOGEMA always has an overview of water consumption and potential problems on site. Thanks to NOGEMA’s TourGest solution, La Générale Industrielle is able to create invoices, among other things.
