Engelmann at the Aquatherm in Tashkent

36 million inhabitants and around 450,000 square kilometers: That is Uzbekistan. Although the Central Asian country is almost 25% larger, it has less than half the population of Germany. The Uzbek residential construction sector in particular shows potential for growth. Heating interface units (HIUs) are increasingly being used in new private housing construction projects, while boilers are becoming less important. As HIUs often contain heat and water meters, the Uzbek market is very interesting for Engelmann. Numerous construction projects are planned in the capital Tashkent, which will increase the demand for HIUs and meters.

The entrance to the Aquatherm trade fair

And it was in this very city that the Aquatherm Tashkent took place. The trade fair for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitation and energy efficiency attracted over 150 exhibitors from 10 countries and more than 6,000 trade visitors. Reason enough for Engelmann to be there. Together with our Turkish partner TayTech Enerji we exhibited there. TayTech Enerji is a leading manufacturer of the aforementioned HIU, which among other things heat and water meters from Engelmann.

Aquatherm served as a central platform for meeting potential customers and business partners such as construction and installation companies. It made it possible to discuss technical projects and solutions directly and to select the right products. At the trade fair, Engelmann colleague Milan Cervenansky and our Turkish partner held all kinds of technical discussions with potential customers. Even though Uzbek companies often rely on M-Bus for meter communication, wireless M-Bus or LoRaWAN could become more important. Aquatherm was a valuable event for Engelmann to present ourselves in an up-and-coming market. The Uzbek market shows great potential, especially due to the increasing interest in HIUs in residential construction. We are looking forward to this dynamic market.
