BG Immobilien about Engelmann: an interview with Thomas Strickler

What does BG Immobilien do?

My name is Thomas Strickler. I am the Managing Director of BG Immobilien GmbH, a subsidiary of the Baugenossenschaft Sinsheim which has existed here in Sinsheim for over 100 years. We look after our properties. We have 12 houses here in Sinsheim with a total of 163 apartments and we take care of the complete management of these residential units, including the metering service.

Why did you choose Engelmann for your measuring service activities?

It was important for us to have one manufacturer for all assemblies. So for heat meters for Heat Cost Allocators for all the cold water meters, hot water meters. We didn’t want to have a mishmash of different manufacturers. Then it also turned out that the service from Engelmann and the quality of the products was really top. What we have seen so far has been really very good.

Can you give an example of this?

We have already installed the Software and purchased the devices for several properties. Some of them have already been installed. Now it was a matter of installing the devices, which are all wireless devices, i.e. networked devices that ultimately transmit the data to us, and it was simply a matter of: How do I bring these devices together with the Gateway to process the data? The data then has to be sent to the Software, which then processes it for billing. Here at the workplace, we were able to preconfigure all the devices. Apart from a few minor details, everything worked very well. There are always the classic stumbling blocks, but we eliminated them and then went out to the properties today and tested on site whether the Gateway all the devices in each property are registered. We can now complete the last step of the data transfer. That worked very well.

What do you appreciate about Engelmann?

First and foremost, product quality, which is very important to us. Then the distance. Wiesloch-Baiertal is just a stone’s throw away from Sinsheim. The short distances; you can tell that this naturally has many advantages. But the decisive factor was certainly the support. The personal support from Mr. Hackel, who was here on site several times and supported us, even today with the topic of Gateway installation. Simply … the personal contact was just great.
